Troubleshoot Blackberry Bold Not Receiving Email

Some of the Blackberries would retrieve mail from the Exchange server only when an email was sent from the Blackberry. This action forced a "sync". Normally, mail should be "pushed" to the Blackberry in a maximum of 5 minutes.

To Troubleshoot this issue with Blackberry Internet Service (BIS):

  1. Verify the date and time are correct on the phone
  2. With the phone turned on - take out the battery - leave it out 2 minutes
  3. Hit Menu Twice > Settings > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing table > Press Menu > Select Register Now - You should receive an email from the Activation Server
  4. Go to Blackberry Internet Service Website and send Service Book to your phone. You can see the new book by Pressing Menu Twice > Settings > Options > Advanced Options > Service Books
  5. The AT&T technician has to take the phone off the network and put it back on - You have to call AT&T
